This is what we call the Liberal leadership show

Preferring his comfortable balcony view, McWaldorf declines to join in…

leaving more room for a keen youngster to show he’s ready to play with the big guys…

although the big guys might have other ideas  (“Key backroom fixers! I will count them. Three! Three key backroom fixers. Ha, ha, ha!”).

Meanwhile, ambivalent squeaking noises suggest fears in one corner that the leadership laboratory may not be sufficiently safe to enter…

while another may be worried his old record in economic management still creates a slight image issue.

This is what we call the Liberal leadership show

  1. LOL. Love this post!

  2. “(”Key backroom fixers! I will count them. Three! Three key backroom fixers. Ha, ha, ha!”)”

    Hilarious! Thanks…

  3. How appropriate. I think one of the lessons Libs learned last election was that ‘it’s not easy being green’.

  4. Waldorf reminds me more of David Smith.

  5. Damn you Geddes. I am now reduced to spending the rest of the day thinking of Muppet dopplegangers for prominent Liberals. So far I’ve got

Martin Cauchon = Link Hogthrob (note: pig = cochon in French)

    Ralph Goodale = Bunson Honeydew
John Mccallum = Waldorf’s buddy in the gallery
    Martha Hall Findlay = Janice
Stephane Dion = The Swedish Chef
    Justin Trudeau = Dr. Teeth

Needed: Liberals to audition for the roles of

    Rowlf
    Fozzie
    Animal
    Miss Piggy
    Gonzo
    Scooter
Sam the Eagle (this might be a conservative)

  6. Derek Lee could be Sam the Eagle. Although the McGuinty’s look a lot like the muppet.

  7. Man I miss that show…

  8. The scientist bears a strange resemblance to Manley.

  9. boudica, google “John Manley beeker” and you will see that he has been called Beeker before, due to the uncanny resemblence…

  10. Marc Garneau = Dr Julius Strangepork…the science officer on “Pigs in Space”

  11. My favourite was Fraggle Rock! excellent tunes. There was also a muppet show in England I caught a few episodes of and all based on classic fairy tales and as usual from anything Henson – was absolutely fan bloody tastic!

  12. excellent post

  13. miss piggy – belinda stronach
