  2. And yet, this happened while our troops are still there. Clearly, they are not waiting for anything.

    • Now that’s not nice to confuse poor Mr. Petrou like that.

    • Exactly. Ten yers of occupation hasn’t done very much. It’s kind of silly to think 10 more would be beneficial.

  3. “we must go to war because of they way they treat women ” is the new “we must go to war to convert them to chirstianity”

  4. If you want some insight into the Middle Eastern mindset, try reading ‘Inside the kingdom’ by Robert Lacey. It’s set in Saudi Arabia, the same country that spawned the majority of the al-qaeda terrosists responsible for the 9-11 massacre. Religious zealots, despots, and the ruling elite.

  5. How many more years of occupation will correct this? Two? Five? Ten? Forever?

  6. Those calling for Canada and other outside forces to stay in Afghanistan should at least acknowledge the hopelessness of the task.

  7. We’ll get around to it when the people beating the drum for the Hundred Years War acknowledge they have no clue what to do next, if they ever had one in the first place.
