Actual CNN Democratic convention headline

“Wife to Praise Husband”

You almost don’t have to watch Michelle Obama’s speech tonight any more, do you.

Actual CNN Democratic convention headline

  1. Well… basically this is her “No, I Don’t Hate My Country” speech. (After the “for the first time in my adult life, I’m really proud of my country” comment.)

    So it’s still worth watching.

  2. It think the main point will be to demonstrate that she is not a Black Panther, that she doesn’t hate America, and to showcase her “normal” Chicago childhood — complete with basketball star brother — to distract from the Kenyan guy in the hut.

  3. She’s not a Black Panther? But it said in The New Yorker…

  4. Heck, given the way Bill C. and Edwards among others have acted in recent years (and the justifiable feelings created as a result), that headline belongs on the front page of the NY Times!

  5. “Wife to Praise Husband” for overcoming snoring and early morning bad smell.

  6. I just put excerpts of her planned speech up on Savage Washington if anyone is interested.

  7. Women have been ruling the world from the back seat for centuries, good for Michele Obama.

  8. After what Bill C. and Edwards…..? Ah, McCain isn’t exactly pure as the driven snow. How about Guiliani?

It better perk up – the Convention so far is a total bore.

  9. Was the headline preceded by that redonculous CNN trademark “BREAKING NEWS”.

As in “BREAKING NEWS: OBAMA WINS DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION”.

Or “BREAKING NEWS: OBAMA ABOUT TO ANNOUNCE VP”, which was the headline for like 700 hours before the announcement.

“YOU’RE WATCHING CNN WHERE WE ASK THE TOUGH QUESTIONS TO GET YOU THE FACTS”

As in “Senator Obama, why are you running for President?”, or “President Bush, how is the war in Iraq going?”

    I hate CNN.

  10. Sandi, fair point. Boneheaded behaviour is bipartisan. But you’ve gotta admit, Edwards is the most recent big case and Bill is, well, *Bill*.
