Tony Clement, productive member of government, on public-sector performance

  1. Populist rhetoric… Collective agreements covering public servants already contain performance appraisal which can lead to discipline and including termination.

    • No such luck with expensive mistakes like Clement, though.

  2. Tony Clement talking about poor performers is just a bit too rich

  3. Canada wants to be crystal clear: You’re a joke, Tony.

  4. It is unfortunate that voters have little opportunity to do anything about the unproductive people we have in parliament.

  5. he should start with himself, Duffy, Wallin and then Harper? what a hypocrite, his performance is abysmal, not only that we have let go 30 thousand workers yet management and executive ranks stayed the same! they have no credibility.

  6. He and the rest of the Harper government inherited a trade and budget surpluses. While most developed countries had neither.
He and the rest of the Harper inherited a strong financial system because the previous government was not dumb enough to follow Harper’s ideological right wing goal of deregulating the financial services industry.
He and the Harper government inherited a fully functioning internationally respected full democracy. Now we have become a joke with a Prime Minister, PMO, and caucus that mistakes elections allowing the people to choose their dictator as democracy.
He and the Harper government are bragging and taking credit for programs they inherited but have cut funding to.
He and the Harper government railed against the lack of openness and accountability in politics in opposition. When in power they have adopted levels of secrecy and paranoia of releasing information only seen in war time. The
He and the Harper government railed about Gomery, corruption, and using public funds to aid in partisan elections and campaigning. Once elected, he and the Harper government have turned the colour scheme of all the federal government website Tory blue, branded the Canadian government as Harper’s government ( a tad maniacal third world dictator for my tastes) and has legally embezzled $100 million of tax payer money on Conservative Party re-election ads through those Canada Action Plan ads.
The media focus on the $90,000 expense claims of Senator Duffy when it should be focused on the legal embezzlement of $100 million by Minister Clement, PM Harper, and the rest of the trained seals in the Conservative caucus.
Using the same standards that he uses for public, He, PM Harper, and the rest of the Conservative caucus should not just be fired from their jobs in mass (without MP pensions) but rather be put in prison for criminal incompetence and embezzlement.
