City to grads: we’ll pay you to move here

Niagara Falls, N.Y. is planning for a “knowledge economy”

The shrinking City of Niagara Falls, New York will give graduates $3,500 per year to pay off student loan debt if they relocate to a neighbourhood in the city’s downtown and rent an apartment or buy a house. Graduates who have received degrees within the past two years and graduate school students are eligible for the two years of benefits. The plan is meant to help the city transition from its diminished industrial economy to a “knowledge-based economy,” reports BuffaloNews.com.
