Reading Material: UOttawa president Allan Rock’s contract

Base salary is $395,000, will receive limited car and temporary housing allowances

I have to step out for an hour or two, so I won’t be able to process this until later this afternoon.

For those of you interested, the University of Ottawa posted their new presidential contract for Allan Rock on their website this morning.

Correction: This contract is relatively easy to skim.

Rock will be paid $395,000 a year as UOttawa president. (Good thing for Rock’s wallet that leadership thing didn’t work out, Dion only makes $208,600/yr)

Immediate UOttawa past president Patry Gilles received $327,502.20 in salary last year.

He gets a car allowance of $1,200 a mth. ($14,400/year).

He will not receive a housing allowance in Ottawa. He does get a limited temporary housing allowance of up to $1,500 per month until April 30, 2009 to cover his apartment lease in Windsor. (The amount decreases by the amount he receives if he sublets.) He also receives an allowance of $1,750 per month to cover his Toronto apartment until January 31, 2009.

He is guaranteed an initial three-year contract as a faculty member in the Faculty of Law upon completion of his first term as president.
