Rutgers criticized for Snooki speaker’s fee

Jersey Shore star paid more than Nobel Prize winner to address the campus

Some students are criticizing Rutgers University for paying the Jersey Shore’ Snooki, $32,000 to speak on campus yesterday. Student Hina Rehman told Reuters that the decision is “ridiculous,” particularly when considering Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winning author Toni Morrison, is being paid $2,000 less to give the commencement address at Rutgers graduation ceremony next month. “Snooki has no accomplishments or achievements that are worthy of that money,” Rehman added. Another student pointed out that Snooki’s talk generated a lot of attention and that the event was “jam packed with lines out the door.”
