Students say they didn’t get what they paid for
The institute formerly known as Trump University (yes, that Trump) is under investigation in New York State. The attorney general’s office will determine whether the Trump Entrepreneur Initiative, which charges fees of up to $35,000, has misrepresented it’s ability to find students jobs, the quality of instruction or the truth about their program’s accreditations, reports The New York Times. Two states have already ordered that the school cease using the word “university.” In an online video, Donald Trump promises students who sign up for his business courses that they will be taught “better than [at] the best business school.” Some angry former students told The Times that they were also promised meetings with banks or real estate financiers, which they didn’t receive. Classes are currently being overhauled and Trump told the newspaper that “the one thing is that [students] really wanted me involved, instead of the teachers.” He announced earlier this week that he would not seek the Republican nomination for president. That was after weeks of speculation that he wouldn’t run because he feared opening his company’s books to public scrutiny.
