York back-to-work watch I

I will be watching the Ontario legislative assembly next week for signs of government action to end the ongoing CUPE 3903 strike at York University.

Presently, there is no official indication of an impending back-to-work order. The window of opportunity for introduction of the legislation is quickly closing as the NDP plans to oppose an order.

The Liberal House Leader, Micheal Bryant, informed the Legislature that evening sittings are scheduled for each night next week, including Friday Thursday. This extension of sitting hours does mean a back-to-work bill can be introduced later in the week and still pass in time for the winter break.
