“A champion for those who had none”

President Obama gives the eulogy at Ted Kennedy’s funeral

More than 1,400 people gathered at Boston’s Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Saturday to say goodbye to Senator Ted Kennedy. President Barack Obama gave the eulogy, describing Kennedy as “a champion for those who had none, the soul of the Democratic Party, and the lion of the United States Senate—a man whose name graces nearly 1,000 laws, and who penned more than 300 laws himself.”  George W. Bush, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, as well as 58 senators, were in attendance. Kennedy will be buried on Saturday evening in Arlington National Cemetery.
