VANCOUVER – The police unit that investigates organized crime in British Columbia is preparing to announce a break in a gang murder investigation.
Members of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit aren’t releasing any other information about the development, before today’s 1 p.m. news conference.
Kelowna RCMP are also releasing few details, but have encouraged reporters in that Okanagan city to listen-in to the announcement, which is being live-streamed from Metro Vancouver.
Kelowna Mounties and the CFSEU have jointly worked on the August 2011 daylight shooting that killed gangster Jonathan Bacon and injured four of his associates, outside a Kelowna hotel.
The two law enforcement organizations have also been investigating the Feb. 18 double homicide in West Kelowna, where a man and woman were found dead inside an SUV.
No arrests have been made in either case.
