Bin Laden’s death already a movie project

But ‘The Hurt Locker’ director may need a rewrite

Kathryn Bigelow, the Oscar-winning director of “The Hurt Locker” already had an Osama bin Laden movie in the works before the al-Qaeda mastermind was killed. Re-teamed with screenwriter Mark Boal, who wrote her 2009 Iraq war movie, Bigelow has been meeting with actors to star in an action thriller tentatively titled “Kill Bin Laden”, based on the story of a failed U.S. black ops mission to capture bin Laden. Now that the U.S. special forces have served up a blockbuster Hollywood ending to the manhunt, it’s hard it imagine Bigelow sticking to the orginal script. And with a more heroic ending, the A-list of stars who will want the “Kill Bin” role may grow.
