Helene Campbell, the young woman who championed organ donation as she underwent a double lung transplant, finally made good on a promise to dance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

In a tweet on Feb. 13 Campbell said:

She made her appearance in an episode that will air Tuesday at 4 p.m. EST. The episode has already been posted online.

Campbell, an Ottawa resident, became an advocate for organ donation while she was waiting for a double lung transplant last year.

She shared her story on her blog, A Lung Story. Her use of social media netted her two appearances, via video link, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She also received an endorsement from Justin Bieber and accolades from the federal and provincial government.

The first time Campbell appeared on the Ellen show she was awaiting her transplant and was too sick to travel to appear on the show in person. Ellen said she could come back to dance on the show when she was well.

In her appearance on Ellen Tuesday, Campbell not only danced, she also spoke about her new charity, Give2Live, which will raise funds to cover expenses for transplant recipients and their families.
