Egregious slip threatens Perry’s race

Texas governor stumbles in latest Republican debate

An embarrassing brain freeze during the latest Republican presidential debate on Wednesday raised serious questions about Rick Perry’s chances in the race to win his party’s nomination to challenge U.S. President Barack Obama in 2012, the Washington Post reports. “It is three agencies of government when I get there that are gone,” the Texas governor said, laying out his plan to eliminate a number of U.S. government agencies. “Commerce, Education, and the — what’s the third one there? Let’s see,” Perry added. He was unable to recall the third agency. The governor later described his own performance as “embarrassing” in a later media appearance.

Egregious slip threatens Perry’s race

  1. Egregious slip?  Sheesh!  We still allow humans to run for office, no?

    • All it did was make me feel bad for the guy.  Of course, I do this on an hourly basis (maybe why I don’t run for office, huh?)

      • You feel bad for Perry on an hourly basis, or just generally bad for people who stumble? ;-)

  2. It’s a major part of his frickin’ campaign platform. Sorry, you don’t just have “brain freezes” about major policies you hold unless you’re a dilettante who isn’t paying close attention to your own bloody campaign. This wasn’t swinging by the store to pick up a few items for dinner. Perry’s lightweight.

    • Perhaps his brainfreeze indicates that this idea isn’t actually something that he believes all that strongly at all?
