Following news that Quebec high schools have the worst drop-out rate among the provinces, a Montreal Gazette columnist suggests that the fix might not be far from home. French boards should look to the minority, writes Don MacPherson. The English Montreal School board has higher graduation rates than the Commission scolaire de Montreal. Likewise, a report by the Montreal island school boards found that students in English high schools were twice as likely to graduate than those who attended French high schools.
