The funeral for Michelle Lang, the Calgary reporter killed in Afghanistan last month, is scheduled for today in Vancouver. Lang, 34, died when the armoured vehicle she was riding in struck an improvised explosive device, killing her and four Canadian soldiers. Friends and family will gather at the Italian Cultural Centre for the service in Vancouver, where Lang was born and raised and where her immediate family still lives. Lang was reporting on the war in Afghanistan for the Calgary Herald, and was also engaged to be married this summer. The four Canadian soldiers killed in the blast were Sgt. George Miok, 28, of Edmonton; Cpl. Zachery McCormack, 21, of Edmonton; Pte. Garrett Chidley, 21, of Langley, B.C.; and Sgt. Kirk Taylor, 28, of Yarmouth, N.S.
