Gossip Girl “threesome” not hot, parents’ group says

CW network urged to preempt Nov. 9 episode

The much-gossiped about news that the CW’s Gossip Girl will feature a ménage a trois between three teenage characters on its Nov. 9 episode has prompted Tim Winters, the chief of the Parent’s Television Council, to write a protest letter to Entertainment Weekly and the CW, the New York Daily News reports.  Winters writes that it’s “reckless and irresponsible” to include the three-way romp on a show “expressly targeted to impressionable teenagers” and urges the network to preempt the episode. Such sexual escapades are inappropriate even by Gossip Girl‘s casual standards, Winter writes: “Gossip Girl routinely depicts teenage characters engaging in promiscuous and consequence-free sexual behavior, and that’s bad enough. But will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films?”
