Ukrainian TV journalist Vitalii Sediuk, who got slapped by Will Smith after kissing the actor in Moscow at the premiere of Men in Black III back in May, has revealed how he managed to get past security and onto the stage with Adele during the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10.

The 24-year-old, who was arrested, is featured in an exclusive Hollywood Reporter video explaining how he did it. After gaining access to the Staples Centre by following a girl in a green dress, who turned out to be Katy Perry, Sediuk made his way to the second row and sat in an empty seat, which may have belonged to Adam Levine, he said, “because he was sitting on the ground.”

Surrounded by A-listers, like Beyonce and Justin Timberlake, Sediuk insists that “the idea to go on the stage came up at the last second. To be honest, Adele is my favorite singer. So when I heard her name, I came up with this idea to go up on the stage and say what I said. … I pretended this was an award for me, and then I said, ‘Thank you, Adele. You’re my inspiration.’”

Jennifer Lopez, who presented Adele with the award for Best Pop Solo Performance, remained composed and reacted quickly by pulling Sediuk away from the microphone. Sediuk immediately left the stage leaving Adele to give her acceptance speech while J.Lo and her leg looked on. Backstage, security was waiting for him. Sediuk was charged with trespassing after spending a night in jail.

He told the Hollywood Reporter that his “purpose is to entertain and to show a different emotion of celebrities.” “I’m not a crazy guy. I just think differently.”
