Hotel with a view

The Fairmont Château Laurier opened La Terrasse, their summer patio, which provides a great view of Parliament Hill and menu items like these.

  1. … and, by making the excuse of
“featuring” their restaurant on-line, I suspect a free meal was had.

  2. I look forward to your next photo feature on the menu for the local Salvation Army soup kitchen.

  3. Did they absolutely have to show the JPEG with the pastries puhleeeease – I am going to have to start wearing suspenders pretty soon.

  4. It all looks a bit sloppy.

  5. Ahhh, The Fairmont Château Laurier! My first experience with this property dates back to…we lets just say back a few years.

The Fairmont Château Laurier has always maintained an alluring charm, resting majestically between Parliament Hill, the Ottawa River, The Congress Centre and the open-air Byward Market

Grand Trunk Pacific Railway of Canada commissioned many elegant chateau style of architecture which first found expression in the magnificent railway hotels built across Canada before 1930. By the 1950s, the chateau style, with its steep roof lines, expansive wall surfaces, turrets, ornately-decorated windows and lavish ornamentation, was internationally acknowledged as distinctly Canadian.

Other properties include Fort Garry Hotel (Winnipeg), The Château Frontenac in Quebec City, and The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise to name a few!
