I dream of Genie – MPs touch award

  1. Maclean's should have posted a caution before putting these pictures on its blog. I nearly lost my breakfast.

There is something particularly off-putting politicians fawning over an oversized tribute to Canadian mediocrity.

And maybe it's my inner teenager, but I can't look at that Oliphant photo without snickering…

    • And maybe it's my inner teenager, but I can't look at that Oliphant photo without snickering…

It's not just you. I can't see the upside to being photographed kissing a set of brass balls. Maybe it's a lack of imagination on my part.

      • Oh, weird, my comment was deleted before it ever made it up! All I said was, I'm with you both, snickering from the gutter (I just realized my original word for "snicker" was one that contains an awful ethnic epithet — maybe that's why it disappeared! Still, kind of sensitive).

        • Reminds me of that old joke:

Why did Oliphant kiss the balls? Because he could.

          • Maybe he was just so pleased to see a pair of balls on Parliament Hill that he was overcome with emotion.

  7. "And the upside-down scrotal sac goes to…"

  8. Rob Oliphant kissing a scrotum.

    'nuff said.
