A commentary about radical Islamism in Britain says the government isn’t doing enough

“Governments also have a crucial role to play,” in wars, remarks Brit journalist Con Coughlin, “and to judge by the response of most Western governments to the threat we face from radical Islamism, we are simply not competing on equal terms with the enemy.” Citing the active involvement of radical British Muslims in the Afghan insurgency, and a succession of recent reports linking the influence British Islamists have on the Nato-led campaign in Afghanistan—the government, he says, is giving Islamist radicals the benefit of the doubt.
