Calgary marriage expert says she sees divorces spike 40 per cent after Stampede

The Calgary Stampede, The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, kicked off today with a rootin’ tootin’ parade down 6th Ave.—only, it turns out the Stampede leads many Calgarians to rootin’ of a different kind (think dirty Australian slang). Karen Stewart, CEO and founder of Calgary’s Fairway Divorce Solutions, tells the Calgary Sun she sees 30 to 40 per cent more clients immediately after Stampede. “It’s the sexual undertones, the alcohol, the letting loose,” she says. “Thousands of beautiful men and women come out of the woodwork at Stampede and people look incredibly sexy when you put them in a cowboy hat. Most people are vulnerable.”

    • Thank you … lost my dinner

    • Giddy-up!

  1. don't blame the "sexy" outfits. People in this city are just too horny and want a quick-lay, and stampede is am opportune moment for them. when they get caught, they make the divorce lawyers money.
