John Geddes on what went wrong with Ignatieff’s campaign

  1. I really wanted to like Ignatieff. Although I now vote NDP, my first vote was for Trudeau and I voted Liberal most of my life, both provincially and Federally. The Liberal drift into the middle-right pushed me out. However, my first thoughts on Ignatieff were that he could be another Trudeau…..wrong. I have no doubt he is a very capable man, you don't get on the Harvard Faculty being incompetent, bit I can't warm to him. He comes across as wooden, stiff and ill-at-ease on camera.

Harper reminds too many women of their first husband.

    • Is being telegenic an important criterion for you?

    • "Harper reminds too many women of their first husband"

So true, he reminds me of my former husband and his passive aggressivenes, and I have actually told him that a couple of times, that's funny!!

    • Liberals moved to the "centre-right'? What planet do you live on? One reason theLiberals are having problems is because they moved so far left they bled votes to the Conservarives.

Igantieff is a very decent man. He would have made a pretty good PM. Unfortunately, there was the little problem of having to get elected first.
