Junket Watch

Ethics commish Mary Dawson has released her annual list of sponsored travel, aka junkets, for MPs for 2008. There’s nothing that strikes me as terribly scandalous — though I’d love to know what gift Serge Menard got from the Canada-Israel Committee that was valued at $10.

At any rate, there are sixty five total junkets listed, twenty three of them sponsored by the Canada-Israel Committee. Taiwan appears to be the next most popular destination. It is not obvious to me that James Bezan’s trip to Churchill courtesy of the Hudson Bay Port Company counts as a junket, even if he did bring his family.
