Lying GPS claims life

Spanish man takes wrong turn, drowns in reservoir

A 37-year-old man drowned in western Spain after his GPS sent him down a dead-end road and into a man-made lake. The Spanish Red Cross confirmed the death, noting that a passenger escaped and managed to get to shore to tell the story. The driver was apparently unable to brake in time once he saw the water, and the car sank very quickly. Why the GPS gave erroneous instructions isn’t yet clear. La Serena reservoir was built more than two decades ago and should have been on any digital navigation system.
