Michael Moore’s “perfect date movie”

“It’s got it all—lust, passion, romance and 14,000 jobs being eliminated every day.”

Director Michael Moore is spoofing romantic-comedy conventions in titling his new documentary, Capitalism: A Love Story, Variety reports. In an announcement, Moore called the movie, which explores the causes of the global economic meltdown, the “perfect date movie”: “It’s got it all — lust, passion, romance and 14,000 jobs being eliminated every day. It’s a forbidden love, one that dare not speak its name. Heck, let’s just say it: It’s capitalism.” The documentary will be released on Oct. 2, a year and a day after the U.S. Senate approved a $700 billion bailout of Wall Street.
