New home in Venezuela for Guantanamo inmates?

Chavez: “we wouldn’t have any problem in taking in human beings”

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says he would welcome detainees from America’s Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba, which President Barack Obama has ordered to be closed within a year. “We wouldn’t have any problem in taking in human beings,” Chavez told the Arabic television channel al-Jazeera. Obama has been looking for countries that might be willing to receive prisoners from Guantanamo, but Venezuela and the United States are currently not on good terms.

  1. They could do worse for a new home, like canada for instance, they would have more human rights than they would in canada, since harper has been in power, the human rights in canada have gone in the toilet. If harper had his way, the first nations of canada would be considered terrorists. This country is built on racism. It is right up there with australia, and russia. Even cuba would be better than canada. The intolerance is well hidden. From the outside people see a sqeaky clean canada, but up close it’s like south africa, apartheid and all.
