New home in Venezuela for Guantanamo inmates?

Chavez: “we wouldn’t have any problem in taking in human beings”

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says he would welcome detainees from America’s Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba, which President Barack Obama has ordered to be closed within a year. “We wouldn’t have any problem in taking in human beings,” Chavez told the Arabic television channel al-Jazeera. Obama has been looking for countries that might be willing to receive prisoners from Guantanamo, but Venezuela and the United States are currently not on good terms.
