Second Asian city to do so in history
The International Olympic Committee announced Wednesday that Pyeongchang, South Korea will host the 2018 Winter Games. Â Pyeongchang defeated Munich and the French city of Annecy in a majority vote, making it the second Asian city to host the Winter Olympic Games. Their bid presentation featured Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yu-na and Lee. Pyeongchang already has a $1.4-billion winter resort in the works for 2018.
