R.I.P. John Lennon

The bloody clothes and glasses he died in are on display in the U.K.

The death of John Lennon still haunts Yoko Ono, she told British reporters today. And if you see the exhibit honouring him at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex, it may haunt you too. On display are the blood-stained eyeglasses Lennon was wearing when he was shot in the back by an obsessed fan in New York City in 1980. The clothes he was killed in are also featured, though they are wrapped up in a plastic bundle just as the Roosevelt hospital returned them to Ono. There are less morbid items too: guitars, letters and favourite clothes, including a NYC T-shirt. “It’s kind of a sad and very poignant kind of paradox I think that he loved this place so much and this is where he was killed,” Ono said.
