Winnipeg Olympic hero will lead the team into B.C. Place
Winnipeg is celebrating as one of the city’s own, speedskater Clara Hughes, has reportedly been offered the honour of carrying the maple leaf into B.C. Place Stadium for the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics on February 12. Hughes is the only Canadian to have won medals in the both the summer and winter games, in speedskating and cycling, respectively.
