Stewart vs. O’Reilly

Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly faced off at George Washington U. on Saturday while another battle took place between would-be watchers and over-taxed technology. Some who witnessed the Rumble suggested it was the best debate they’d seen — perhaps even ever. Here’s how it played on Twitter:

The match up for the mock debate, as described by the Washington Post:
“In one corner: O’Reilly, 63, a 6-foot-4 conservative Catholic from Levittown, N.Y., who divides the world into patriots and pinheads every weeknight on “The O’Reilly Factor.”

“In the other: Stewart, 49, a 5-foot-6 liberal Jew from New Jersey whose quippy ombudsmanship of O’Reilly’s network has dominated segments on his rollicking Comedy Central show for years.”

Jon Stewart had nine words to start things off: “My friend Bill O’Reilly is completely full of shit.”

Here’s the AP on the mock debate: “Choice words not suitable for the faint of heart dotted the 90-minute exchange between the Fox News anchor and the star of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” who bantered aggressively but good-naturedly over birth control, President George W. Bush and the so-called “War on Christmas.”

You know, I’d had high hopes for the Stewart/O’Reilly debate. But the live stream was broken, and the download file is worse. #rumble2012Jonathan Disher

Here’s USA Today on winners at losers: “At evening’s end, unlike the actual debates, the official verdict was: both won. Each got a ‘championship belt.’ And as for what they learned from the evening, O’Reilly said, “Now I know I’m right.”

Stewart vs. O’Reilly: Debate highlights, plus grumbles about the rumble

  1. I watch J.Stewart for info more than anything. O’Reilly is one of his best guests but there is nothing I can learn from him. I stopped watching Colbere for that reason. Today’s Garfield is amazing. Harper and Baird, the 1st frame is the funniest the 2nd read. No matter how bad you have it or how bad your PM and Cabinet is, at least you don’t have that cat!!
Iran outputted one plastics paper I’ve read. I’m more worried if their leader goes Reagan/Klein or about transition. It seems a waste their citizens can’t read Chomsky and those who advocate against media mild Totalitarianism. The NP religious freedom piece a few days ago ignored Christian Fundamentalists. And the Globe wouldn’t let me blog “retard” in a chemical engineering context. Retards. My organic chemistry is turning into the dies: everything. But I’m thankful I’m cdn/n.american cultured the last few years and months. I’m thankful I’m not living next to welfare perverts; I’ll not murder this yr. Maybe next year I’ll have a gift: a peat moss lumber carbon sequester just for the tar-rich peatlands of AB. Happy thanksgiving to everyone who beleives the coyote god is superior to the settler god to be on USA coins soon. Piraro can’t make such a multi-scene comic gem…

  2. I’m wondering if heat and pressure are interchangeable where the surface of the die meets the plastic mold (biodiagnosis/sensor, OLED including agri and disinfecting?, MEMs?, solar cell, battery component). There must be a durable mold substrate that permit you to optimize from the inner onion layer out, the pressure or the temperature finely enough to avoid expensive patterning. I’d guess microinjection molding will still be cheap with an expensive mold…I miss thanksgiving in French when I could avoid talking to retards. I’m afraid to learn French for the reason. And in Nam my captors had a French bugle accent. But I’m sneaky.

  3. An actor who died in the wrong movie, a Mormon, and the Sniper ally’s hair, walk into a bar…
