Team America!

In which everyone can hear Mark Steyn high-fiving himself in New Hampshire:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. crew of a hijacked U.S.-flagged container ship in the Indian Ocean appears to have retaken control of the vessel, a Pentagon official told Reuters.
“It is our understanding that the crew is back in control of the ship,” said the official, who asked not to be named. He said the shipowner would hold a news conference on the matter at 12:00 p.m. in Norfolk, Virginia

Team America!

  1. Maybe Sully was captain of this ship.

  2. There were only four pirates.
Oh, and Steyn is probably too busy filling in for Rush on his days off.

  3. Who on earth flies under a U.S. flag?

    • er, sails.

      • Anyone with special tax exemptions? Someone with Navy Seals on speed dial?

  4. Does the Law of the Sea allow you to feed the fish with the pirates you successfully overpowered? It might dangerously escalate the danger of any future encounter with these scum, but man the urge must be strong.

  5. Maybe the pirates were outwitted by the crew. These modern-day pirates are probably not very bright.

    • Actually, I google-newsed the story, and it seems the pirates agreed with the ship’s crew to “trade” hostages: the ship’s captain for one of the pirates. The pirate was freed, and the captain was taken away with the pirates who fled. I now conclude that “fish food” would be too nice a fate for these people.

  6. “America, F*** Yeah!”
