As late as November, Germany’s chancellor Angela Merkel was resisting the siren call of fiscal stimulus to beat depression. Her hard line earned her the nickname “Frau Nein” among her Euro-partners. But those days are over and Merkel is preparing 50 billion euros in spending and tax cuts. Can Stephen Harper be far behind?
