The Quiz: You vs. the Maclean’s Genius

This week, we tested Maclean’s Genius Peter Dyakowski on everything from the Canadian Navy to Mexican food. Can you beat his 80 per cent?

Welcome back to the Maclean’s Quiz, a diversion designed by Terrance Balazo to test your trivia skills. Good luck, and remember: no Internet assistance allowed.

We’ve also invited the Maclean’s Genius, Peter Dyakowski, to take the quiz. Dyakowski is a lineman with the CFL’s Hamilton Ticats who also bested the competition in CBC’s Canada’s Smartest Person contest in 2012.

This week, we tested Dyakowski on everything from the Canadian Navy to Mexican food. And even though Dyakowski is a professional athlete, he didn’t come up that strong on this week’s sports questions. “The baseball and hockey questions weren’t enough, you had to throw in a soccer question,” he said. “Needless to say, I went 1/3 on those.” He scored 80 per cent.
