Tories lead nationally, but Ontario gap closes

Liberals in dead heat with Tories in key province

While the Conservative Party is enjoying a comfortable national lead over the Liberals, a new EKOS-iPolitics poll shows the gap has closed in the key battleground province of Ontario. Nationally, the Conservatives are polling at 36 per cent support, 8 points higher than the Liberals, while the NDP stands at 16.1 per cent. But in Ontario, the Conservatives have 38.7 per cent support, compared to 36.2 per cent for the Liberals. “What is quite clear is that a majority is really unlikely,” EKOS pollster Frank Graves said.
