New book details the “unexpected game of seduction between two wild beasts”
The French public are lapping up the salacious details of the love-at-first-sight meeting between President Sarkozy and future first lady Carla Bruni via Autobiographie non autorisée by Jacques Séguéla, the friend who invited them on a blind date to his home in November 2007. In response, Bruni behaved like “the huntress Diana with velvet claws”, toying with the over-eager president and, using the informal “tu,” warned him that she knew of his reputation as a womaniser. Seven weeks later, they married.
