Why only Obama can stop an Israeli military strike on Iran

“Israel will not attack Iran without tacit approval from America.”

There is good reason to think an Israeli air strike against Iran will happen soon, writes Richard Beeston in the London Times. And President Obama, he argues, is the only one who can stop it. “He has launched a diplomatic offensive aimed at repairing ties with Iran and re-engaging with the regime after 30 years of hostility,” writes Beeston, who adds that one of the big challenges will be getting Tehran to set aside its nuclear ambitions. Beeston also notes that “Israel will not attack Iran without tacit approval from America.”
