Internship Opportunities

Ann MacGregor memorial internship in the summer

Maclean’s offers a four-month summer internship program. It is open to anyone interested in journalism, but prioritizes those who are entering their final year of postsecondary study. The intern works within the editorial department, writing stories and contributing files to other writers as needed. The deadline to apply for this summer internship was February 21, 2017. The application process is now closed.

The Ann MacGregor memorial internship pays $1,750 a month, for the months of May, June, July and August. A five-day Monday-to-Friday work week is expected.

We will contact potential candidates from those who have submitted applications in the form below no later than March 10. Please do not be discouraged if you are not contacted; we are getting a fantastic number of entries! Your information will be kept on file for potential future applications, as well. One-year internships

The one-year internship contract positions begin on a rolling basis and at a rate of $22,500 annually. Interns are full-time entry-level journalists who attend story meetings and pitch ideas for publication along with other members of the editorial staff, as well as research, report and write stories for the print magazine and the website. Interns are expected to contribute to larger efforts such as special projects and cover articles. Maclean’s is not currently accepting applicants for the one-year position.
