MONTREAL — Hospital officials say Sen. Jacques Demers is getting better every day and is now eating after his stroke nine days ago.
They say Demers is in stable condition although it not clear how much progress he will make.
Dr. Angela Genge says Demers began eating on Thursday and is able to interact with visitors.
The 71-year-old former NHL coach was rushed to hospital on April 6.
Demers, who coached the Montreal Canadiens to their 1993 Stanley Cup victory, is a patient of the team’s current doctor, David Mulder.
