Justin Trudeau to be a father for the third time

Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, are expecting their third child.

“We’re going to need another seat in our canoe,” the federal Liberal leader tweeted late Tuesday afternoon.

The couple are the parents of a son Xavier, born in 2007, and Ella-Grace, born in 2009.

  1. Congrats to Justin and Sophie!

  2. A baby is a lovely thing; I echo Emily’s congrats to the growing family.

After he and his brother were born and it was announced that Margaret Trudeau was expecting a third child, our local Maritime radio call-in show asked callers what the Trudeaus should name the new baby. One caller suggested they “should call it quits.” Cute.

  3. I wish Sophie good health. It can be a little more challenging having a child when you are 38, so I hope all goes well over the next several months until March.
