Karen Stintz drops out of Toronto’s mayoral race

Current Mayor Rob Ford is left with three main rivals in race for Toronto mayor

TORONTO – Rob Ford has one less rival vying for his job as mayor of Toronto.

Karen Stintz, a long-time city councillor, says she’s dropping out of the race for the city’s top job.

Stintz says she’s disappointed her ideas did not gain the traction she had hoped for, leaving her lacking the level of financial support needed to continue.

But she says she’s proud of her efforts over the next few months.

Ford—who has raised the profile of the municipal race due to his colourful antics in and out of city hall—is now faced with three major rivals which include former NDP MP Olivia Chow and former Ontario Progressive Conservative leader John Tory.

Toronto’s municipal election will be held on Oct. 27.

Karen Stintz drops out of Toronto’s mayoral race

  1. Just like last time, when there were only horrible choices, Smitherman and Ford, history is repeating itself with only horrible to bad choices again. Ford, Tory, and Chow. (All four letter words! -).

Can’t the Rosedale elites find someone semi-competent to put forward.

Our lonely eyes looks westward to Nenshi and Iveson.
