MONTREAL – Two Quebec Revenue Department employees were among seven people arrested today by the provincial anti-corruption unit for allegedly colluding on a $24-million IT contract.
Police say the two fed inside information to a consortium of two firms in connection with the government-tendered contract.
IBM and Informatique EBR were vying with other companies for the contract to manage data for the Revenue Department.
The others arrested include two EBR executives, two IBM employees and a former employee with the Public Security Department.
They face various charges, including fraud, conspiracy and breach of trust, related to crimes that allegedly occurred between March 2011 and June 2014.
An eighth person, who works for IBM, is also being sought.
