BTC: Now that he’s begging for comparison

Here is how our Prime Minister reacted yesterday to the plunging stock market.

And here is how the Australian Prime Minister reacted yesterday to the plunging stock market.

BTC: Now that he’s begging for comparison

  1. Looks like some Aussie speechwriter is making some serious cash…

    Austin

  2. Yes, if only the Republicans knew *Canada* wanted them to act, that would convince them to switch their votes…Maybe we should charter a lot of buses, and all converge on Washington for some sort of big rally to let the Republicans know how much we all love them and want them to vote the right way…

  3. Yeah but Aaron, the Aussie PM is now the Labor (yes, they spell it that way… don’t ask) Leader Kevin Rudd. Harper would only parrot the speech if John Howard was giving it and still in power.

  4. I sure felt more reassured from the Australian response than I did by the Canadian response. Then I worried more, because Australia has the strongest banking regulatory system in the world. That probably means Canada’s isn’t as good.

But then I decided it was because the Australian media bothered to get more than a soundbite from their Prime Minister, and our Prime Minister could have given just as reassuring a response if anyone had pressed for one.

But then I remembered that our media isn’t allowed to press our Prime Minister for anything–ever.
