‘Fairer, greener and more prosperous’

The NDP’s motion calling on the Prime Minister to meet with the premiers was defeated this evening. Thomas Mulcair is unimpressed.

Today, the Conservatives once again chose to tell Canadians they’re on their own to face the turbulent global economy by voting against the New Democrat motion to get the country back on track. The Conservatives refuse to work with the official opposition and the provinces to build a balanced and sustainable economy where no one is left behind.

They continue to prove their incompetence by weakening rural regions and cutting the services Canadians rely on. Canada’s unemployment rate remains high and household debt has reached a peak, but the Conservatives continue to stand idly by. The official opposition will continue calling on the Conservatives for concrete action on the economy. We will continue to put forward practical solutions to improve the lives of Canadians.

New Democrats want our children to inherit a fairer, greener and more prosperous country. We will continue to work in the interest of all Canadians proving we are ready to replace Stephen Harper.
