Music: what?

The new Killers single makes me happy. But is Brandon Flowers saying “dancer” or “denser”? And how does either make sense?

Also: the new Bond theme song makes me happy-ish too.

On board the Dion bus as it pulls into Montreal….

Music: what?

  1. And how would you describe the mood of the not-quite-as-big-anymore red machine this morning?

  2. Paul… dancer, and it does make sense if you are stephane dion and you ponder last night’s debate. An excerpt:

    “cut the cord
are we human or are we dancer
my sign is vital, my hands are cold
and I’m on my knees looking for the answer
are we human or are we dancer

pay my respects to grace and virtue
    send my condolences to good
give my regards to soul and romance
they always did the best they could
and so long to devotion, you taught me everything I know
wave good bye, wish me well”

  3. Paul–BTW, dancer at the end of the cord might refer to the soon to be severed umbilical cord.

Or it could suggest a puppet wanting to be freed with the truth. Like Pinnochio except, unlike Pinnochio, the lies are from others (like the some of the main stream media?).

  4. The Bond song, meanwhile, is “Another Way to Die.”. Metaphors R Us.

  5. It’s no “View To a Kill”, certainly.

  6. Paul,
how do the Liberals get that bus to move, when it apparently is missing some wheels?

  7. Another Way to Die is cool. I think Dylan had it right (he always does) when he sang,

I was thinkin’ ’bout Alicia Keys, couldn’t keep from crying/
When she was born in Hell’s Kitchen, I was living down the line/
I’m wondering where in the world Alicia Keys could be/
I been looking for her even clear through Tennessee

  8. I can’t wait for the new Bond movie! The previews look amazing.

  9. Hey, thanks for a music post period. In the middle of this craziness.

  10. it was not too long ago that the ‘know it alls’ said the puny blond new James Bond was a ‘big mistake’….Like DION he has shown he has got what it takes so… ridicule all you want. The Conservative way is to ridicule and now it also appears to be their partners the New Democrats.

  11. michele

If you are comparing Dion to Bond, James Bond, than you should expect a lot of ridicule, all of it richly deserved.

  12. Stephen Harper as Dr. No?

  13. C’mon, jwl, this is fun! Julie Couillard as Pussy Galore…

  14. Sean S

The Man With The Golden Gun

    Scaramanga = Dion

    Andrea Anders = E May

Though this is not an endorsement of Roger Moore as Bond, James Bond, because I think Moore is going to hell for turning the character into some kind of cartoon hero when he should be played like a normal assassin with no superpowers, like Connery and Craig portray him.
