Ottawa to be serious, avoid getting “huggy-huggy”

Conservative Gary Schellenberger looks ahead.

“It’s my feeling that when we go back it’s not going to be all huggy-huggy or anything like that but I think people will have realized that we have to be serious, we have to go forward and work together on this.”

Wait, what? Now we have to be serious? Why now? This place has run almost completely free of seriousness for some time—why this sudden desire for something different? We are living in a time of profound economic uncertainty. The last thing we need right is now a sudden and dramatic change in the tone and practice of government.

  1. Um .. who the Polievre is Gary Schellenberger?

  2. I wonder if we’ll soon be reading about how the opposition parties refuse to be serious. Of course ‘seriousness’ here also means humble and somber agreement with the government’s budget and agenda.

    • what?

haven’t you ever seen the hand of God before?
