Adding up the Senate expense scandal

The Senate apparently believes that Mac Harb owes $231,649.07 in expenses—though he previously said he would contest the Senate’s findings in court.

The Star’s sources say Pamela Wallin has repaid $38,000 and might owe another $20,000.

Patrick Brazeau has been ordered to repay $48,744—though he has said he’ll fight that finding.

And Mike Duffy, with the help of Nigel Wright, has already paid back $90,172.

Pending a final ruling on Ms. Wallin and verdicts in the cases of Mr. Brazeau and Mr. Harb, this affair might add up to $408,565 in questionable expenses.

The Senate’s audits, meanwhile, have so far cost $240,000.
