Maclean’s is your home for the daily political theatre that is Question Period, when opposition and government MPs trade barbs and take names for 45 minutes every day. Today, QP runs from 2:15 p.m. until just past 3. We tell you who to watch, we stream it live, and we liveblog all the action. The whole thing only matters if you participate. Read our morning tease to catch up on the issues of the day, and then chime in on Twitter with #QP.

The RCMP is looking for evidence that corroborates some of Sen. Mike Duffy’s explosive claims in the Senate, of late, including that the Prime Minister’s Office created a cover story for the senator that saw him claim he paid for improperly claimed expenses by way of an RBC loan. We may have an Harper-Mulcair showdown take over the House. Of course, even parliamentarians will be distracted by the day’s other big news.

QP Live: As the Senate prepared to vote on Senator suspensions

  1. Will the suspensions be in the form of a law that must pass through the senate itself? if not, is it within the purview of the HoC to suspend a senator? if so, why does anyone care if they become an elected “effective” body, when they can be removed on the whim of the House.

Not that I condone the three harper appointees and single Liberal who acted inappropriately. i just wasn’t aware this could happen.

  2. It seems the new front bench harper has appointed have become nothing but bench warmers this season. just look at Miss Remple.
