Entrepreneurship is alive and well at St. Lawrence College (SLC); their Enactus team placed among the top four college teams in Canada at the 2015 entrepreneurship competition. SLC also supports its students’ business skills via Spark Production House, a student-led creative production house that generates high-quality products like marketing plans and promotional videos for paying clients.
St. Lawrence College offers diplomas, certificates, apprenticeship training, and three bachelors degrees: applied arts in behavioural psychology, science, and business. The behavioural psychology degree program is unique, featuring more than 1,000 hours of placements in community centres, where students practise their clinical skills.
SLC has three campuses, in Brockville, Cornwall and Kingston, as well as distance-learning options. Each campus has suite-style student residences, a robust athletics program, and close proximity to hiking trails and conservation centres. The Cornwall campus residence has a beautiful view of the St. Lawrence River through the rooms’ wall-to-wall windows.
Applied research is well developed at SLC, with many resources available for students to pursue research projects in their field. A number of research projects in renewable energy are currently under way, under the faculty of applied science and computing.
