His speed skating teammates sure think so

Should Gilmore Junio be Canada’s closing ceremony flag bearer?

  1. The article mentions short track two times, but for the record, this event was the 1000m LONG track.

    • For the record it only mentions it once.

      • Not that it matters, but hit CTRL F and search for the word short.

“Morrison was ranked 6th in the world for the short track event…”

“After finishing tenth in the 500-m Olympic short track competition, Junio’s Olympics came to an end…”

        • It only said it once on the article not that it matters

          • Yeah gocanadas right
            Back off lord kitchner

          • Hilariously, I agree that it couldn’t matter less, but still. Are we reading the same article? Not only do I still see the two references to short track, I cut and paste the quotes straight from the article in that last comment. Once, Hutchins mentions that “Morrison was ranked 6th in the world for the short track event“, and then later it says of Junio. “After finishing tenth in the 500-m Olympic short track event….”

I swear, I’m not trying to be argumentative, and I agree that this is silly, but it’s just so WEIRD. I’m looking at those references right there, right now. I copied and pasted them right from the article above in to this comment.

What on Earth is going on, lol. :-)

Google “Morrison was ranked 6th in the world for the short track event”. This article is the number one hit. Google “After finishing tenth in the 500-m Olympic short track competition”. This article is the fifth hit.

            Am I going crazy? :-)

          • Yes you are Lord Kitchner
            It only mentions it once.
I think you need glasses if you cannot see it only says it once

          • Yes again I agree with Go Canada
            Back off Kitchy
By the way who presses control f while looking At a website

          • By the way who presses control f while looking at a website?

Someone looking to see how many times the word short appears on the website, and in what context.

          • Can I just ask then, which one of the references that I posted in to my comment are you seeing? The one saying Morrison was ranked 6th in the world in the 1000m short track event, or the one mentioning that Gilmour made his decision after finishing tenth in the 500m short track event?

          • The second one
Do you think junio should be flag bearer
What kind of names is lord Kitchner
            Back off kitchy

          • You misspelled Gilmour It is spelled b-a-c-k. O-f-f
            K-I-t-c-h-y

          • Lol
            No offence intended

          • Our little discussion is taking over the comment section

          • Do you suppose anyone’s reading these beyond you and I?

          • Probably not
Should check out cbc website they have more info about gilmore
Also they have a comments section……………….
            Ha ha ha

          • Sorry if I am being too argumentative
Our argument is getting away from the point lol
The point is Gilmore Junio for flag bearer Hurrah lol

  2. Awesome! A form of heroics that all too often gets overlooked – giving up one’s own ambitions for the greater good. Flag-bearer material indeed!

  3. Gilmore Junio for flag bearer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. I think making him our flag-bearer is a wonderful idea. Hundreds of people in the entire Olympics win medals; dozens of Canadians will win medals; but this kind of sportsmanship is rarer and more meritorious than an athletic victory, and deserves to be recognized.
